Even in the pouring rain, there's nothing like some retail therapy  to lift your spirit. So I went shopping in Lille, in the north of France, yesterday. In between some serious shopping we took a break in the tea salon of Patisserie Méert. The chocolate and confectionary boutique opened in 1761 and is famous for its waffles. In the beautiful 19th century decor you can buy all kinds of delicious sweets for gourmands: macarons, guimauves, pralines... This winter the famed waffles are available in two flavours: in the original vanilla flavour and a spéculoos variant. Délicieux...

Real estate heaven

I've been thinking about buying my own place in Antwerp for a while now. Not that I don't love the bijou apartment in the city centre I'm currently living in, but a girl's gotta move on. And this girl is dreaming BIG! Not necessarily in size, but quality... As I mentioned before I adore Paris and I would love to find my very own Parisian style apartment here in Antwerp. Quite a difficult task... And then I stumbled upon the site of a+b kasha and thought I'd gone to real estate heaven. They buy and decorate apartments in Saint-Germain and they are all mounthwatering beautiful. Just take a look at the before-after section and start drooling. I'm considering a move to Paris...

Rose Bakery

Paris is my favourite city, so I try to visit it at least once a year. I have a little black book filled with special adresses and Rose Bakery in the Marais is one of them. This English inspired bakery sells vegetable tarts, salads and cakes. You can take-away the goodies or eat them at one of the wooden tables. I tried the lentil salad and a vegetable tart last time I was there and they were so yummy! Rose Bakery has a cookbook with all its succes recipes, so you can try to make everything at home...
